Colby Connelly is set to obtain her BFA in Dance with an emphasis in Ballet Pedagogy in 2022. She began her most intense training at Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts. There she studied ballet, modern styles such as Horton, Graham, and Limón, improvisation, composition, and many more. At Hartt, she has taught ballet and modern to young dancers under her mentors Olivia Llano and Sarkis Kaltakhtchian. She had the opportunity to perform an original work by Sir Richard Alston as well as works such as The Winged by José Limón staged by Nina Watt, Something About Night by Lar Lubovitch staged by Brett Perry, and Chronicle by Martha Graham staged by Miki Orihara. Connelly has trained with both The Limón Dance Company and GroundWorks DanceTheater virtually. She has a passion for improvisation and choreography. She premiered her own work in a 2020 and 2021 composer-choreography collaboration. She has just recently finished choreographing for Real History Productions.
