Raised in Houston, Texas, Nadia Halim is a dance artist, writer, and marketing coordinator based in New York City. She studied at The High School for Performing and Visual Arts, and graduated cum laude from Barnard College with a B.A. in Dance and Sociology.
Throughout the years, she has had the privilege of performing works by Sasha Waltz, Shannon Gillen, Yin Yue, Loni Landon, Jennifer Archibald, David Dorfman, and Zachary Tang. Nadia has performed with Colleen Thomas Dance, BITEdown Collective, VALLETO, and The Moving Orchestra.
As a choreographer, her work investigates the relationships between language, perception, and identity through the practice of dance theater. She created an evening-length production titled work of body, which premiered in 2019 at The Movement Lab, a space for experimentation at the intersection of dance, performance, and technology.
She is an alumna of the Diversity in Arts Leadership Program by the Arts & Business Council of NY and was selected as a Fellow by the Athena Center for Leadership Studies. Nadia is currently the Marketing Associate at The Joyce Theater in New York City. She is honored to be working with Sonia Plumb Dance Company.
