Noa Rui-Piin Weiss

Noa Rui-Piin Weiss is a dancer, writer, and arts administrator based in New York City. He started dancing in Portland at Oregon Ballet Theatre, trained with Jennifer Howard as a teenager, then attended Barnard College. He has performed works by Doug Varone, Bill T. Jones, Adrienne Truscott, Caroline Fermin, chameckilerner, Twyla Tharp, Mark Morris, David Dorfman, and Lucinda Childs, among others. Noa has presented choreography through Fertile Ground and the Current Showcase (Take.5), and recently collaborated with Adrienne Truscott on his thesis project “Jack of All Trades.” Noa is a regular contributor to The Brooklyn Rail and Culturebot, where he writes about performance. Most recently, Noa has discovered a passion for mash-ups, and would recommend “Nine-Inch Nails – Closer but it’s Funkytown by Lipps Inc.” mixed by William Maranci. This is his first season with SPDC.
