Junior Company

Students wishing to become a part of the SPD Junior Company must have completed at least one year of high school. Students will take class and learn SPDC repertory from SPDC staff. Junior Company members are given the opportunity to perform in SPDC performances throughout the season. The commitment is approximately 6-8 hours per week with additional during the performance weeks.

Expectations
  • Junior Company members are expected to take class consistently whether at the School of SPDC and/or their home studio.
  • He/she is expected to arrive on time for rehearsals and performances. This prepares them for job readiness.
  • Junior Company members must notify staff regarding tardiness and absences. Communication is key for success.
  • Repeated tardiness and/or absence is cause for dismissal.
  • Junior Company members will be required to fill out self-evaluation forms during their time with SPDC.
  • Junior Company members are provided with feedback from SPDC staff.
  • Parents will be expected to sign Assumption of Risk forms and questionnaires confirming health.
  • During the pandemic Junior Company members will be required to wear masks for rehearsals and performances until fully vaccinated.
  • During the pandemic Junior Company members will be required to follow CDC protocol and guidelines outlined in their ‘contract.’
