Waves – Sound and Light
Waves – Sound and Light
Exploring the science behind sound and light, students discover the concept of vibration, how sound travels through some objects and not others, how light can be opaque, translucent or refracted, and more.
They ponder questions like How can we use light and sound to express emotions and feelings? Why do some sounds irritate us while others soothe us? Why do some colors sadden while others gladden?
During the week-long residency, students interpret age-appropriate stories, using movement, text, music, and lighting to create a final info-rmance for classmates, friends and families.
Guest appearance by SPDC company dancers to heighten the live performance experience.
