Asher Taylor-Dawson
Dancer & Artist Instructor
Asher is a dancer, choreographer, and aerialist. Born and raised in Connecticut. He has performed roles ranging from the very contemporary (The Underworld in Orpheus: A Silent Circus; The Dream in 2018’s New Works, Telemachus is a dancer, choreographed by Lexington Ballet’s Artistic Director, Luis Dominguez) to the strictly classical (King Theseus in A Midsummer Night’s Dream; Drosselmeyer, Nutcracker Prince, and Cavalier in The Nutcracker). Asher believes in dance as a universal expression of humanity. Asher was thrilled to join Sonia Plumb Dance Company in 2023, taking the role of Telemachus in Penelope’s Odyssey, which explores so many deeply human themes. He was instrumental in the research and development phase as well as performing in The Cure(d), a work-in-process inspired by neurodiversity in the arts. Asher is a teaching artist for SPDC. He dances with New England Ballet Theater in Avon, CT.
